Brother

Do you have a person in your life whose word is just the truth? Like, the gospel, you retain everything they say and repeat it anytime it's pertinent. This person for me is my brother. "Yeah, Stephen Malkmus is an asshole, my brother told me." Or, "Oh yeah, my brother said Guided by Voices was reuniting, you should go." I still remember when I was 4 and he told me boogers were delicious...so I ate some of mine. I developed an opinion of my own at some point in my life, but I still believe everything he says.

Little Melissa update

OMG SHE IS TOTALLY STILL ALIVE. I water her every day or every other day, and no leaves have fallen off. In fact, I think a new leaf came out. I'm buying more plants for my new place.

I am soooo happy Mad Men is back, but I really want them to bring Suzanne the teacher back. That hair, those day dresses, brown skirts and fitted cardigans! Ack. Style icon for fall? A mix of her and Madonna in Desp. Seeking Susan? Hmmmmm...

Stelllla

I have loved Stella McCartney since back when she designed for Chloe. The three main reasons I like her are: Paul's daughter, vegan clothing and purses (!), good perfume that Tiny likes. And look at these precious ads! I need the sweater on the right. Oh, and Natalia Vodianova in the ads!!

Three things I can't stop buying

I like clothes. Duh. But, there are just three specific things in life I can't say no to.

1) Nail polish

3) Vintage dresses

I wonder what all of our fashionable buddies can't say no to. I just ended a sentence with a preposition SO WHAT.

I like and hate this at the exact same time.

My niece is a genius.

-Can count to 10 in Spanish.

-Remembers me even though I see her only two/three times a year.

-Forming full sentences.

-Memorizes books.

Reality bites

I told myself when the 90's were over that we were NEVER going to dress like that again. Flannels, grandpa sweaters, baggy tees, lace dresses, FLORAL PRINTS??? I DRESS EXACTLY LIKE THAT. I just don't want the early 2000's to come back, am I right? No shorty sweaters with lace trimmed camis and pointy heeled shiny boots for me, no way! Although, you never know...
